The Agriculture department organised a 16 day "Kumbh Virath Kisan Mela 2019" which identified NABARD supported Pragati Gram Fresh Producer Company Limited as eminent in its field by the Jury and received 3rd prize for the same.
Pragati Gram Fresh set up an exemplary stall at Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj from January 31, 2019 to February 15, 2019. The exhibition displayed the organic produce of the farmers, or in other words, the shareholders of the company. These farmers took a lead in interacting with various dignitaries who visited the stall explaining them not about their organic produce but also about the concept of farmer producer company and their journey from bondedness to freedom. It was not only an exhibition but also a medium for awareness for the public and people who visited Kumbh Mela. The exhibition was a step forward towards empowering the farmers by providing an opportunity for showcasing their produce and the innovative techniques they practice in the field.
The FPO was praised by various dignitaries including The Minister of Agriculture, Principal Secretary of Agriculture and other notables of the Agriculture Department. The products were purchased by a number of people which motivated the farmers in the initiative.
